POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at Scott AFB
Scott AFB will host a POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony on 18 SEP from 10:00-11:00 AM at VFW Post 805, 221 West 1st Street, O'Fallon, IL. A cookout will follow the event. Attendees should arrive between 9:30-9:45 AM; coffee and doughnuts will be available. Please RSVP no later than 13 SEP by calling Dawn Maier (618-558-8665) or Terry Jenkins (618-229-4755). Provide name, telephone number, and number of attendees; also, let them know if a family member or you were an ex-POW, or if you are attending as part of a particular group or organization.

Trivia Night
On 16 OCT 10, starting at 7:00 PM, Post 5077 will host a Trivia Night to raise money for a Blue Star Memorial. Fees are $15 per person or $120 per table. More details to follow...

Veterans' Benefit Program
VFW Post 5077 is hosting a Veterans' Benefit Program at the post on Saturday, 14 August, beginning at 08:00 AM in the meeting room. The Missouri Veterans Commission will provide a guest speaker. In addition, Service Officers will be available to assist with claims processing.

Veteran's Night at the Ballpark - 21 August 10
Veteran's Night at the Ballpark is sponsored by VFW Post 5077 and AMVETS Post 106. Tickets are $22 and include all-you-can-eat buffet. The deadline to sign up is 24 July. Check the Club Room for more details.

National Home Trip
This year's trip to the National Home, sponsored by the Departments of Missouri and Wisconsin, is scheduled for 22-24 October. The theme this year: Star Wars. Cost is $175 per person (includes bus trip and lodging).

Junior Girls of the VFW
The Junior Girls Unit is open to girls ages 5-15 whose family members meet VFW eligibility requirements(daughters, granddaughters, and sisters). The Junior Girls Unit assists the VFW in promoting Americanism and volunteer activities serving veterans and the community. They meet the third Sunday of every month at 2:00 PM.

Veterans Home Volunteers Needed
Each month representatives from our post visit the Missouri Veterans Home in St. Louis. We host a Bingo game and provide refreshments for the veterans which average 80-90 at any given time. We are in desperate need for volunteers willing to spend a couple hours a month helping out. The home visits occur on the 3d Saturday of every month. We depart from the post at 1:00 PM and return about 3:45 PM. Please contact Sam Goldstein for more information at 636-240-4436.

Bingo
BINGO! VFW Post 5077 needs you! We need VFW Post 5077 members to volunteer to come out and help with Bingo on Wednesday nights. Contact the Post Commander and let him know you'd like to help.

Ceremonial Flag Case
We have seven (7) ceremonial flag display cases that were presented to the post as part of an Eagle Scout project. If you would like a case for the family of one of our deceased members, contact Mark Waller. The cases are free and available on a first come first served basis.
